BARRO, fronted by the multifaceted artist Ca7riel, merges heavy metal, nu-metal, and punk rock into a distinctive sound, showcased in their eponymous debut EP released in 2023. I crafted the album cover, logo and the character design

The character, a central feature of the visual branding, draws on elements of fantasy and the grotesque. Its pinkish hue and insect-like morphology give it an edge that resonates with the band’s alternative metal identity. The humanoid yet alien form strikes a balance between the familiar and the surreal, encapsulating the band's innovative approach to their genre.

The logo was initially sketched by hand during a spirited car ride. As the album blasted through the speakers and the car lurched into potholes, the vibrations and rhythms translated into the fluid, organic shapes of the logo, which was later refined to match the character’s vivid presence. This hand-drawn logo against the dark backdrop captures the band's fearless and unbridled spirit, just as their music captures the listener's imagination.
