Mute
Year: 2014
In collaboration with the esteemed typeface designer Ale Paul, "MUTE" emerges as a profound art collection that transcends mere design, embodying a meditation on the role of silence in our hyper-connected existence. The series presents a narrative on the dichotomy of connection and isolation in the digital era, with each piece representing a chapter in this exploration.
At the core of the collection is the 'Mute' concept: a phone case designed not to shield from physical damage but to introduce a metaphorical pause on digital communication, compelling us to confront the silence we often avoid. This object of contemplation is rendered unusable, its buttons and screen concealed, prompting a dialogue about the spaces we inhabit — both physical and digital — and the noise they create.
This body of work was a synergistic endeavor with Valentín Muro, with whom I shared a creative vision that culminated in a contemplative website experience. Each image is intricately crafted, featuring Ale Paul's typeface not merely as text but as an integral visual element that guides the viewer through the essence of 'digital quietude.'
