Young Amazon in a Landscape
In June 2021, I undertook a commission for the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, a project that offered a unique opportunity to reimagine a classic work from their collection. I chose Vittore Carpaccio's "Young Knight in a Landscape" as the foundation for this reinterpretation.

My take on this classic involved transforming the central figure into a female protagonist, resulting in a new work titled "Young Amazon in a Landscape”.
In this re-envisioned piece, the central figure is now a woman—an Amazonian warrior imbued with strength and mystery. This transformation was more than just a change in the subject; it was a recontextualization of the narrative and symbolism within the work.
Drawing inspiration from my "First Dream" collection, I incorporated similar symbols into this piece, weaving a deeper, interconnected narrative. This integration not only enhanced the individuality of "Young Amazon in a Landscape" but also enriched the overarching story I was telling through my art.
